Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a model cost?

Each model has to be quoted on its own merits as no two models are the same. We would be happy to give a rough figure based on minimal information or possible even a phone or email discussion, but for a complete accurate quote, we require a few drawings to give us an indication of the type of model you are after.

How long will my model take to build?

When a quotation is given for a model, we will always give an indication of how long we think the complete project will take, having said that, we will normally work to your deadline.

What are the best materials to use?

Elfin Presentations will normally know the best material to use for each aspect of your model. If you have a specific material in mind you would like us to use, we are always ready to accommodate your requirements.

What information is required?

The level of information is generally dependant on the level of detail required from your model. For a fully detailed marketing model, we would require a full set of elevations, sections and plans, for a block model however, we may only require a footprint and a photograph.

Can the information be delivered digitally?

Yes, the information required is more often than not transmitted via email or on CD. We are able to print out full sets of drawings here on site.

Will the model be of good quality?

We believe our models will stand up to the toughest inspection. No model is delivered without a final inspection from the client, and with the client being kept informed of developments of the model throughout the build process, we have never had any problems with the quality of our models.

Can changes be made to the model during construction?

We are able to make changes to aspects of your model during construction if we havenít started them yet. Minor changes to completed elements may be accommodated free of charge, but major changes will incur a cost and may affect the deadline.

Will the model be delivered?

Upon request, we are able to deliver the model anywhere in the UK or the world. We generally factor in the cost of delivery to your offices in the initial quote.

How can I be informed of progress if I cannot come to your workshop on a regular basis?

Although we would recommend regular visits during the build process, we are able to take digital photos and send them to you via email whenever necessary.

Do you exclusively produce Architectural models?

Whilst the core of our business is Architectural model making, as you can see from our gallery, we are able to produce a wide variety of models to suit every clientís requirements.
